Courses at DIS (Denmark's International Study Program) are taught in English by Danish professors. DIS offers intellectually-challenging academic programs in Humanities and Social Sciences, Politics of the European Union, International Business and Economics, Architecture and Design, Child Development and Diversity, Marine Biology and Ecology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, and Medical Practice and Policy. Students take required core courses (if any) in their academic program and participate in program-related study tours. Beyond these requirements, students are free to select any combination of courses across the various programs. Students must have junior or senior standing and a 3.0 GPA. All students must be enrolled at CCIS member institutions.
Copenhagen is a vibrant European metropolis, yet it has a small town feel where you can meet friends at a cafe. Copenhagen has a low crime rate and a 24-hour-a-day bus system. Copenhagen is connected to Sweden by a 10-mile bridge and it takes only a half day to travel to Berlin. The DIS program is located in the very center of medieval Copenhagen, in a beautifully restored building from 1798. The DIS center includes a library, student lounges, computer labs, student advising and information services, architecture studios, and a few classrooms. DIS is affiliated with the University of Copenhagen and most classes are held in UC classrooms located nearby.

The College Consortium for International Studies, a partnership of colleges and universities -- two and four year, large and small, public and private, domestic and foreign -- encompasses the broad spectrum of international higher education. CCIS members sponsor a variety of programs, notably study abroad programs and professional development seminars for faculty and administrators, which are designed to enhance international/intercultural perspectives within the academic community. Recognizing the value of such experiences in fostering global understanding and peaceful cooperation among nations in an increasingly interdependent and rapidly changing world, CCIS is committed to developing international dimensions as an integral part of collegiate education. CCIS works to build collaborative arrangements among institutions who share this commitment, and to facilitate linkages between member institutions and international partners. In all of its programs and activities, CCIS strives for a high level of academic excellence.
