Summer Interns work as full-time assistants to lead teachers in all of our day camp activities at the Cloud Forest School. Morning responsibilities include assisting in the planning and execution of activities such as art, music, sports, environmental education or farming. In the afternoon, they will assist teachers with the planning and execution of English classes for local students. They will also attend Spanish classes themselves, courtesy of the program. Interns may be called upon to lead activities for a teacher that is ill or otherwise unable to attend school.
Interns are invited to attend all of our weekly field trips (6 total) in the Monteverde zone as chaperons. Interns are also provided with Spanish classes, on-site internet access, and placed with a homestay family (room and board).
Summer Interns must be:
* 18 years old (minimum)
* Have travel health insurance
* Native/fluent English speakers
* Experienced working with children ages 3-12
* Willing and able to commit to a full time schedule for the entirety of Summer Programming
USD2,000 for 6-week Internship
30 hours/week as an Assistant Counselor, 5 hours/week of Spanish Classes and Cultural Activities, room and board with a local family, 1 daytime field trip/week, transportation, internet access , orientation and ongoing support.
