Gap project travel writing/researchers new positions 2012- LYON!
CTR projects take place in (Berlin, Edinburgh, Madrid & now Lyon)
City Travel Review attracts candidates each year to take part within our study/working gap placement programmes. Project members are usually undergraduates, post graduates, working young people taking a short sabbatical or those taking a gap year before or after University. Project members come from all different backgrounds, with the following purpose to gain valuable diverse working experience, learn a language from scratch or improve on foreign language skills already acquired. (Language element in Berlin, Madrid and Lyon German, Spanish, French) Many project members wish to gain a new experience possibly changing career direction in order to move into:

Participants are selected and usually placed in peer groups that have members of the team with complementary skills. The guide project is a project designed to test at all levels and is designed as a gap experience to add to the CV/resume. The actual guide produced upon completion of the team working project is displayed as an E-Book which is usually published with an IBAN number available to download online or ordered as a book by the public. Any profits made are kept solely by the participants themselves which always depend on the quality and how well the participants promote the guide after the programme. Project members are rewarded with bonuses in the form of project related activities, field trips, excursions, company visits and fun target related bonuses according to project deadlines being met.
City Travel Review's work/study abroad projects are a great opportunity for budding writers, those that wish to learn a language, researchers, photographers, graphic designers and PRs to hone their skills. Our popular summer programmes see applicants live, work and study from 3-12 weeks while creating a travel guide to some of Europe's most captivating cities.
Mornings are dedicated to language workshops. During the afternoons participants gain and develop hands-on experience working as Travel Researchers/review journalists. Participants are thoroughly involved within the creative team, creating a professional tourist guide aimed at young people and students visiting the capitals. Information gained in the language learning is incorporated within the guide. Participants design the whole guide from start to finish from layout, photos, graphics/design, proofreading, writing reviews/features for restaurants, bars, cafés, attractions/entertainment, city history, art and culture etc. Participants attend workshops and are aided by an experienced journalist & professional working team. Parts of the guide are often distributed as an on-line resource, displayed over the years in many various different formats in exhibitions, Universities, Tourist information offices or article extracts are given to small and medium sized business' to hand out as a free resource.
We select outgoing individuals who are able to demonstrate commitment, initiative, teamwork, good organisation and the ability to communicate effectively.
