Students on the CCSF Semester in Florence and Rome Program spend one month studying in Rome, followed by a one week break, and then continue their studies in Florence. Students attend Italian classes at the Scuola Leonardo da Vinci in both locations. A History class will be taught in Rome, and an Art History class in Florence; both will use traditional classrooms lectures, as well as visits to sites of historical significance, such as museums, piazzas, churches and cathedrals. Housing is provided in furnished student apartments. The ACCENT Florence and Rome Centers organize a number of cultural and social activities for program participants, as well as optional day and weekend excursions and also provide student support services. City College of San Francisco will award a transcript for coursework completed overseas. Courses offered on this program are all lower-division, undergraduate and most transfer to both the CSU and UC systems.
Spend a semester studying in and exploring both Florence and Rome, both cities known for their art, culture and living history. In Rome you will spend a month studying the Italian Language and the History of Europe since 1900. Then, after a week's break to explore locally or further afield, you will continue your adventure by spending two months in Florence where you will continue your Italian studies and also study Art History in the city's many fascinating piazzas, churches, and museums. The Semester in Florence and Rome program offers a unique opportunity to expand your educational experience while earning transferable college credit through City College of San Francisco.
