  • Description

Come live 9,000 feet above sea level in this high-altitude haven for all things fun: markets, mountains, and culture in the city, and beaches, jungles, crater lakes, and the Galapagos all nearby. On CIS Summer in Ecuador you will study at Universidad San Francisco de Quito, a top-notch university, and improve your Spanish during unique excursions throughout this dynamic country. You will experience:

    * Excellent academics if you're looking to study in Spanish - Earn 9 credits in 9 weeks. You'll have the freedom and flexibility to practice your new language skills while traveling throughout ethnically, culturally, and naturally diverse Ecuador.

    * Lush US-style campus - Universidad San Francisco de Quito's beautiful campus has all the luxuries typical of home: a world-class library, Wi-Fi access, classrooms, restaurants, and sports fields.

    * Amazing sites in Ecuador - This geographically small country is packed with adventure activities and opportunities for cultural exploration, and it boasts beautiful scenery and amazing biodiversity--the Galapagos Islands are nearby!

    * A fascinating, historic city - Quito's entire downtown, with its fascinating blend of old and new, is a UNESCO World Heritage site, so it's hard to go wrong when exploring.

    * Incredible excursions that complement your coursework - This program is packed with peak experiences, including 3 excursions. One is to the lush coast, which teems with tropical fruits, cacoa, and cafe. Another is to the mountain town of BaƱos, where thermal pools bubble in the shadow of a volcano. And you'll visit Tiputini, USFQ's premier biodiversity laboratory, in the heart of the Amazon.
