  • Description

A world-class university in a UNESCO World Heritage site! Semester at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona offers you all the best aspects of Europe: strong academics, a gorgeous campus, proximity to a coastline of white-sand beaches, and an exciting, cosmopolitan city that never sleeps.

Spend a semester studying at an internationally renowned university in the cultural hub of Mediterranean Europe. On Semester at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, you will have the opportunity to soak up all that Barcelona has to offer both inside and outside of the classroom. You should start getting excited about:

    * The most pristine white-sand beaches in Western Europe - Barcelona enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate. Pleasant temperatures in winter and hot summers make any time of the year perfect for a visit to the beach. Barcelona's beaches and boardwalks, a stone's throw from your front door, are a main attraction in the city.

    * Life in the cultural capital of the Mediterranean - Barcelona is home to more World Heritage sites than any other city in Europe. You will witness 2,000 years of architectural and cultural splendor. The numerous museums, churches, cathedrals, concert halls, the modern art of Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso, and the influential architecture of Antoni Gaudi and Mies van der Rohe make Barcelona an aesthetically appealing destination for visitors from all over the world.

    * World-class academics in world-famous buildings - The Barcelona campus was declared a Historic Artistic Monument in 1978 and named part of UNESCO's Cultural Heritage for Humanity in 1997. And it's located in a safe, quiet, central part of Barcelona.

    * Accommodations that suit your style - Semester at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona provides you with options when it comes to housing. You can live with a Spanish family, share an apartment with other international students, or live in student residence halls located throughout Barcelona.

    * The city of Barcelona - The cafe culture, boutique shops, tapas restaurants, and world- famous nightlife are enough to keep you busy for a semester.

    * Cultural activities and excursions are included - We will take you to a Catalan cooking class, a flamenco show, and tours of less-traveled barrios of Barcelona. One day trip outside of Barcelona and one weekend trip in Spain are included in the program. Possible trips include the beautiful Costa Brava, magical Granada, and majestic Madrid, among others.
