CIEE Teach in China places individuals just like you in paid semester or year English teaching jobs in elementary, middle, high school, or university level positions in urban or town locations in eastern China. Anywhere you teach in China, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in local customs, share your own way of life, learn or brush up your Chinese skills, and bolster your resume while you experience firsthand this fast-growing super power.
CIEE offers you two program choices in China:
* Teach in China: Five or ten months in one of China's cities or towns, teaching English to students of any age.
* Teach in China Professional: Teach in China Professional is intended for qualified teachers looking to further their career in education or immerse themselves more in the Chinese work environment. Positions last 10 months to a year in one of China's cities teaching English to students at a secondary or higher level.
* Pre-departure school placement and negotiated, legal work contract at state certified institution
* Monthly Salary (includes paid holidays)
* Rent-free accommodations for the duration of teaching contract
* Support of CIEE professional U.S.-based staff before you depart for China
* Chinese work visa acquisition
* Teaching and program guides to help you plan and prepare
* Four Day/five Night orientation in Shanghai
* An English speaking school coordinator to help you adjust to the cultural differences
* 24 hour in-country dedicated CIEE participant support via the CIEE Shanghai Office
* International medical insurance and 24 hour worldwide assistance provided through the CIEE iNext travel card
* Airfare reimbursement for participants who fulfill a teach contract for two consecutive semesters.

You do not need extensive teaching or international experience to apply! Whether your major was art history, zoology, or anything in between; if you have a good attitude and solid work ethic, your academic background will serve you well in the classroom - this time from the teachers side of the desk.
CIEE and our partner schools are looking for well-rounded applicants who are independent, adventurous and who adapt well to new situations. Participants must be able to expect the unexpected and thrive in a changing environment! Its essential that participants are self-motivated, responsible, and recognize that their first priority is to their school and their teaching assignment. 110% commitment to the program is essential.
Teach in China eligibility requirements include:
* Bachelors degree in any major
* Native English language fluency
* U.S., British, Irish, Canadian, Australian, or New Zealand citizenship
