    The Architecture summer program is intended to introduce students to contemporary Barcelona's art and architecture through an exciting course which uses the city as its classroom. In addition, the program is structured in order to increase the students' design capacities through an architectural design studio where a Barcelona-based project will be developed.

In addition, the program is structured in order to increase the students' design capacities through an architectural design studio where a Barcelona-based project will be developed.

    This program is ideal for architecture majors or minors or areas such as liberal arts, urban planning, or art history who have not yet taken an architecture studio.

    Academic Program:

    The summer Architecture program includes two required courses. Art, Architecture, and Design in Contemporary Barcelona uses the city and its contents as a classroom. This content will complement the Foundations Architecture Studio by providing students with the cultural/historical background they will need for developing a Barcelona-based project will be developed. Both components of the program will therefore complement each other.

    - Participate in educational activities designed for architecture and art history students including visits to some of the city's iconic buildings and to architecture studios

  • Program Fees Include:

    The CIEE program fee includes an optional on-site airport meet and greet, tuition, housing, orientation, full-time program leadership and support, cultural activities, local excursions, field trips, pre-departure advertising, visa fees, and a CIEE iNext travel card which provides insurance and other travel benefits.

    *Students placed in homestays will receive breakfast and dinner during the week and most weekends.
