    The Language and Culture study abroad program in Rio offers students with a modest background in Spanish or Portuguese a direct enrollment study abroad experience in Brazil. Through diverse, guided cultural activities, field trips, homestays, and volunteer opportunities the program introduces students to insightful perspectives of Carioca culture and Brazilian society. Designed for students with a range of academic, intellectual, intercultural, and linguistic experiences, the program offers an examination of the rich cultural center that is Rio, as well as the modern transformation of Brazil as one of the most important countries in the world. Students become participants in this dynamic and evolving social, cultural, and economic landscape.
