    Looking for a break between graduating high school and starting your first year in college? Consider participating in a Gap Year program, where you can grow and change into the person you want to be with help from CIEE and an experience in cultural and language immersion.

    Gap Year Abroad in Shanghai, China with CIEE offers college-bound high school graduates an opportunity to acquire a broader global perspective, foster independence, and gain self-knowledge. The program offers accelerated Chinese language growth through classes and immersion into the Chinese community, the opportunity to live with a Chinese host family, and experience participating in organized volunteer work in the local community. Included in the CIEE program are day and weekend excursions of cultural and historical importance that will provide an important dimension to understanding the Chinese culture.
