CHASE Africa: 8 week Volunteer Expedition to Kenya

Location

Kenya: Eldoret, Kakamega, Kisumu and 9 other cities

Description

CHASE Africa is a volunteer expedition and placement company with programs running across East Africa.

The CHASE 8 week expedition gives volunteers one of the most unique insights into Kenya today! CHASE Africa has a long history working with many rural tribes and communities all across Kenya - giving volunteers the exclusive opportunity to interact with these peoples by living and working closely with them.

We travel over 2000km across Kenya within the 8 weeks - from West to East - living and working in the lush green Western region; the arid and remote Maasai land; the dirty and chaotic slums of Nairobi; and finally reach the tropical beaches of the Indian Ocean coast! Designed with under 25s/ students in mind - the expedition fits in with university term dates - and we offer the lowest project fees around!

We will be introducing volunteers to a wide range of current issues affecting Kenya today and how these are being addressed by grassroots projects. These projects include: public health education; anti-FGM campaign; girl-child empowerment; environmental awareness training; traditional building training and assisting in schools and orphanages for vulnerable children.

Alongside these projects, volunteers get the opportunity to experience the beauty of Kenya, as we visit some of the major tourist sites throughout the trip. We visit numerous National Parks including a 3-day safari in the world famous Masaai Mara all included in the price! Travelling in a group of around 10 - even if you apply alone - you will leave Kenya with not only an unforgettable summer, but definitely with some friends for life!

Don't just donate to charity - join the CHASE team in summer 2013 and see for yourself how you can make a difference!

Chase Africa is looking for confident, motivated volunteers able to work well in a team and an adventurous spirit!

Highlights

Volunteers Chase Africa is unique in combining volunteer projects with a tourist safari package. Not only will volunteers be able to work closely with and interact with some very rural communities, many of whom have never seen foreigners before; they will also have the opportunity to see the seventh wonder of the natural world- the wildebeest migration in the world famous Maasai Mara National Park. Combining so many different types of rewarding community work with travelling the length of the country, interacting with people of a different culture, makes for an unforgettable summer!
