CET Summer Film Production in Prague

Czech Republic
Share |

Location
Czech Republic: Prague

Term
Summer

Dates
May - July

  • Description

This program is for the next generation of Steven Spielbergs! CET Film students produce and direct their own stories on 16mm or 35mm film. Students participate in many aspects of filmmaking: directing, cinematography, screen writing and editing. The program is open to challenge-seeking students who are excited to collaborate with peers and mentors.

All students enroll in the core course -- Summer Film Technology and Practice. This is a practicum designed for CET students and taught in English by the Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU) faculty. Students work in production groups to produce a film, about 5 minutes in length, in 16mm. The dialogue-less film is shot in natural lighting. All students enroll in Czech Language. Most students take beginning Czech Language, but intermediate and advanced Czech language learners can be accommodated.

Prague draws its visitors through fairytale-like cobblestone streets, and past a thousand years of artistic history. CET Film students become a part of Prague's grand intellectual and artistic tradition as they capture on film one of the world's most inspiring cities.
