Students delve into Chinese language, history, environmental affairs, politics and culture in this uniquely designed program. Chinese studies courses challenge students to thematically observe their surrounding environment while language classes give students the tools to further their exploration.

Service-learning opportunities engage students with the Beijing community. Chinese roommates open doors for students, offering both friendship and cultural insights. The CET Chinese Studies & Service-Learning program provides students a platform from which to gain practical experience and to explore China from a variety of angles.

Capital Normal University (CNU), one of China's top 100 universities, hosts CET's Center. With its nearly 10,000 undergraduate students and sizable graduate population, the campus offers a vibrant community of students from both Beijing and other parts of China.

All CET students live with a Chinese roommate in a spacious, new dormitory. Classrooms and faculty offices are also housed in this building and the campus library is right next door. The dormitory includes a bookstore, convenience store, gym, pool and several cafes and restaurants.
