CERTESL (Certificate in Teaching English as a Second/Additional Language) is a university-based distance-delivered program that qualifies its students for teaching positions in every part of Canada as well as around the world.
CERTESL's online and paper-based distance courses are designed by TESL instructors in partnership with Distance Education design specialists, to meet standards of content and rigour identical to on-campus university classes.
People looking for international adventure can take just a couple of courses; the complete 6 or 7 course core program meets the needs of career ESL educators in adult or youth education contexts.
Each course must be completed within one term, but up to five years are allowed for completion of the whole program; you commit to one course at a time, so if you start with just one course because you want adventure but fall in love with the work, you can keep taking courses to meet career goals.
Course options are available for K-12 professionals seeking Ontario or Saskatchewan Additional Qualification requirements in ESL/EAL teaching.
