  • Description

At CERCOPAN there are opportunities to get involved in many aspects of our work. Although some activities are restricted by availability and experience of the volunteer (veterinary care, etc), there are generally programs ranging from research (both flora and fauna), primate care, community development, and environmental education that are all available. Internships and thesis work can also be accommodated.

Volunteers generally live at our rainforest situated site, surrounded by the natural beauty of the forest. Wildlife directly surrounding the camp include diurnal and nocturnal primates, bats, diukers, pangolins, tree hyraxes, squirrels, and a huge range of birds, butterflies, amphibians, and reptiles to name a few.

Living conditions are basic but comfortable, with wooden sleeping quarters and clean toilet and shower facilities. Food is a mixture of local and western cuisine, cooked on an open fire. Daily work would include working with other volunteers and local staff.
