Hungary
Share |

Location
Hungary: Budapest, Debrecen, Gyor and 9 other cities

Length of Position
Full school year or more

  • Description

We will have the need for approximately 40 new teachers for fall of 2012. Most applicants will teach conversational English although several may teach other subjects also. We will also have a need for a few preschool/kindergarten teachers. Vacancies are in Budapest, Debrecen, and many other towns and villages throughout Hungary.

The Central European Teaching Program represents a significant presence in Hungary. CETP has been placing conversational English teachers in elementary schools, high schools and universities since 1990. Positions for dual language teachers of English and German are infrequently offered as well. In nearly every case, students will have Hungarian teachers primarily responsible for English grammar instruction. Conversation teachers are responsible for enhancing student's oral fluency through conversation practice, classroom drills, games, audio-visual instruction and listening comprehension as well as through working closely with native teachers to emphasize important grammar concepts. High school teachers may be asked to help prepare students for stringent national language exams as well.
