Central College Abroad in Granada is a personalized Spanish immersion program where students can expect dramatic development of language and cross-cultural skills, beginners included! Students begin their language study with Central College Abroad's on-site orientation designed to prepare students for their coursework at the Center of Modern Languages. They are guided throughout the summer program with a cross-cultural workshop, small tutoring sessions and the on-site support of the resident director.
Classes are held at the University of Granada's Center for Modern Languages, a modern facility equipped with language laboratories, library, video rooms, lounges, study areas, and a cafe. The center is housed in the restored Palacio de Santa Cruz in the heart of the old city of Granada. The Central College on-site resident director has her office in the same building.
Granada, a city of 300,000 residents, is home to more than 50,000 university students. Its many shops, tree-shade public squares, cobblestone pedestrian streets and busy highways are dominated by the magnificent medieval palace, the Alhambra, which overlooks the city. The mountains of the Sierra Nevada and the beaches of the Mediterranean are both less than an hour away by public transportation.
