Description

The "Theology & Religious Studies" program represents a unique collaboration between CEA and Providence College. Based at the CEA/PC Center for Theology and Religious Studies at the Global Campus in Rome, it provides opportunities to explore historic and modern Italy in an active way: up close, hands-on, and fully immersed in a rich learning environment. Courses are offered in both Italian and English and are taught by local experts and scholars, as well as visiting Providence College faculty. You will study theology and Italian language, along with other electives in the heart of Rome, a cultural and religious crossroads, and center of the Roman Catholic Church.

Highlights

Live and breathe history in Rome, also called the "Eternal City." Rome's history of global power and cultural leadership spans more than two millennia. Today the city is a hub of contemporary culture, cuisine and fashion, and is one of Europe's major capitals of politics and commerce. Romans themselves are at once friendly and gregarious, and their love for their history and culture is often contagious. Although host to a rich religious Catholic culture and the home of the Vatican and the Pope, Rome's history before Christianity is also evident in every angle of the ancient city. CEA courses enhance your experience of the city, highlighting for you Rome and Italy's past and current importance in such fields as archaeology, history, business, and politics.
