  • Description

Are you passionate about your Spanish language skills, and interested in improving upon them in-country? Then consider the Spanish Language & Culture Program, designed for students of all language levels who wish to acquire new skills and improving old ones, while taking advantage of all that Alicante has to offer. Situated on the Mediterranean Sea, halfway down Spain's Costa Blanca, students have a fantastic opportunity to immerse themselves in Spanish culture. With thousands of years of history and a current economy focused on tourism, Alicante offers a striking contrast between the historical and modern. Students will find it the perfect place to put their Spanish skills into action.

  • Highlights

Located in southeastern Spain, Alicante is a Mediterranean port city and the principal city of Spain's world-renowned Costa Blanca. Alicante is built around a natural harbor and has a population of approximately 326,000. The city's economy is based largely on tourism to the beaches of Costa Blanca, followed by services and public administration. Explore life Alicantestyle while strolling down Alicante's palm-lined promenade, Explanada de España, having lunch at one of Alicante's many outdoor cafés or wandering through the eclectic boutiques and shops in the city center. Observe the culture first-hand through the more than 300,000 who participate in the one-day pilgrimage to the Monastery de Santa Faz, one of the most important religious and cultural traditions and second-largest pilgrimage in Spain. Or experience the exciting week of parades, meals in the streets and live music as you celebrate Hogueras, originally a celebration of the Summer Solstice.
