Description

Students of all language levels who are interested in acquiring and developing their German language skills are invited to spend their summer with CEA in historic Berlin, focusing solely on the improvement of their German skills. Daily language courses will focus on listening comprehension, conversation and grammar. Students also will have the unique opportunity to practice their language skills with the help of local German students at the "coffee hour" held every day at the University's International Club "Orbis Humboldtianus." This program provides you with a variety of ways to improve your proficiency in the German language.

Highlights

Berlin has witnessed some of the most significant political and historical events of the 20th Century, from the rise of Nazism and the Berlin Wall to the Cold War and the eventual reunification of East and West Germany in 1990. Today the city acts as an influential center in European politics, culture and science. It also serves as an important hub of continental transportation and is home to a wide range of life-science corporations and research institutes. Many of Berlin's theaters, cinemas, museums and galleries, including the five museums on the Berlin Museumsinsel (Museum Island), are a short walk from the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin campus. Explore Berlin by bike with your CEA classmates and check out the flea markets and Berlin Beer Festival. Walk through Berlin's history as you tour the Holocaust Museum, the Heritage Site of Potsdam - where Truman, Churchill and Stalin met at the close of World War II, and the Sachsenhausen concentration camp.
