    CCUSA offers a wide range of Volunteer Programs in several countries throughout Asia. Cambodia, China, India, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam!

    Volunteer for as little as 2 weeks all the way up to 6 months at a variety of important social, educational, or environmental projects. Programs allow you to practical, hands on experience teaching, community building, community development, health care practicing or programming, as well as environmental or conservation focused programs.

    Programs fill up quickly, and there are a variety of opportunities in each country.

  • Highlights

    Volunteer Experience Cambodia:
    Spend 13 weeks immersing yourself in urban Cambodian life while helping students improve their English skills.
    Who is eligible?: 18 years+, have no health problems, be enthusiastic, and have cultural sensitivity & respect
    Key Benefits: Program fee includes placement, meals, accommodation, training and supervision. Impact students from low income schools who would otherwise not have the benefit of learning English. Program also raises money for community infrastructure.

    Volunteer Experience China:
    Opportunities to teach English in an urban setting.
    Program Length: 1 to 3 months
    Who is eligible?: 18-65 years of age, have no health problems, be enthusiastic & motivated
    Departure Dates: March and September departures
    Key Benefits: Program fee includes placement, meals, accommodation, training and supervision. Projects are based in Northern China assisting in middle class schools, teaching primary and secondary students to become bilingual.

    Volunteer Experience India
    Opportunities to work with disadvantaged communities in Kolkata (Calcutta), India.
    Program Length: 1 month 3 months
    Who is eligible?: 18 years 60 years of age, be in good health, be enthusiastic & motivated
    Departure Dates: Programs begin the 1st of every month.
    Key Benefits: Program fee includes placement, meals, accommodation, training and supervision. Kolkata (Calcutta) is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal. With a population of 5 million and an extended metropolitan population of 14 million, the needs of the community and projects change from time to time. Types of programs include working with children in a low income school, assisting teachers, to other projects including teaching English to impoverished women and their children, assisting in computer training, or teaching business skills, etc.

    Volunteer Experience Nepal
    Options include a variety of education health, childcare, and community aid programs.
    Program Length: 2 weeks 5 months
    Who is eligible?: 18 years +, no major health problems, teaching program requires 6 week minimum commitment
    Departure Dates: Programs begin the 1st of every month.
    Key Benefits: Program fee includes placement, accommodation & meals during training (phase 2), transportation and supervision. Programs are available in the Kathmandu Valley only. Placements determined upon arrival. Opportunities include teaching conversational English in local schools, volunteering at an orphanage, teaching health education, community maintenance projects, as well as home stay/cultural exchange programs.

    Volunteer Experience Philippines
    Options to volunteer in urban and rural areas teaching in day cares or schools, community health care, environmental conservation, as well as community building.
    Program: Volunteer Experience Philippines
    Program Length: 2 weeks 6 months
    Who is eligible?: 18 years +, no major health problems, openness to different cultures, relevant experience required for Counseling Program
    Departure Dates: Volunteers are required to arrive before the start of each month, and training and orientation will be held on the 1st of each month.
    Key Benefits: Program fee includes placement, accommodation, meals, training, transportation and supervision. Volunteers may be placed in various locations around the capital city of Metro Manila. Projects include teaching programs in Day Care Centers and Elementary & High Schools, medically trained volunteers can be placed in community health centers and hospitals, building projects, and environmental projects to promote conservation.

    Volunteer Experience Thailand
    Opportunity to work with wild animals in a sanctuary focused on their quality of life. Where possible, the animals are reintroduced into the wild.
    Program: Volunteer Experience Thailand
    Program Length: 4 weeks 12 weeks
    Who is eligible?: 18 years +, be in good physical condition able to walk long distances and tolerate heat, be able to work without assistance, work well with others and adapt to group living
    Departure Dates: Volunteers can join the program for 4 to 12 weeks, and then may negotiate to stay longer.
    Key Benefits: Program fee includes placement, accommodation, meals, training, and supervision. Located approximately 160km south of Bangkok, you may participate in preparing food and feeding all animals, cleaning and maintaining enclosures, and building enrichments. You will work with macaques, gibbons, civets, loris, leopard cats, tigers, bears, crocodiles, and exotic birds.

    Volunteer Experience Vietnam
    Options to volunteer in an orphanage or teach English in a school or University.
    Program: Volunteer Experience Vietnam
    Program Length: 1 month to 5 months
    Who is eligible?: 18 65 years of age, no major health problems, be enthusiastic. To teach at the University you must also have a TESOL Certificate and a college or university degree.
    Departure Dates: Volunteers are required to arrive in Da Nang at the beginning of the month.
    Key Benefits: Program fee includes placement, accommodation, meals, training, transportation and supervision. Volunteers who work in the orphanage will be teaching English and helping with the children. Depending on the project, volunteers may also help with social support programs, work with infants and children with disabilities, and work with outside community support programs as well. Placements for the Orphanage program are in Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Tam Ky, and Tuy Hoa. Volunteers for the Teaching program will teach English and other subjects at Da Nang University, Duy Tan University, and the Olympia Language Center.

    All Volunteer Asia programs require extremely committed and self- motivated participants who are willing and able to work and live outside of their comfort zone. Maturity and independence are crucial and the ability to help out whereever needed. Flexibility is important as you may be asked to fulfill a variety of responsibilities.

    All Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and in good physical and strong mental health. Some programs are suitable for volunteers up to 65 years of age. Final program eligibility is up to individual project leaders.

      Some healthcare projects require a professional medical background, experience in a clinic, and there are opportunities for medical and nursing or other public health students as well in lieu of this previous experience. All other non health care projects do not require specific professional experience, but it is always beneficial.
