We have a residential house where members with disability receive respite breaks. Members with disability are paired with persons with disability on a one to one basis during respite breaks. Volunteers work as a team ensuring all members' needs are met. There is a supporting staff.
During respite breaks, we take members with disability on various outings, to the shops, cinema, parks etc. This requires a bus driver. We are looking for a full-time bus driver, whose main responsibility would be transporting the group safely, but also someone who would get involved in the respite programme, showing an interest in our members with disability. More information can be available on request.
Our programme serves 8 fulltime residential volunteers. The purpose of our volunteer recruitment is to befriend and accept persons with disability through a programme of respite breaks and social outings.
We require someone to drive our 14 seater minibus. This requires a:
- D1 license in Ireland or the international equivalent.
- A clean driving license.
- Experience of driving a minibus essential.
- Our members are persons with a disability so some experience with persons with disability would be an advantage but not essential.
- A good level of conversational English.
Volunteers are asked to pay their own airfare and provide medical insurance for themselves.
We provide accommodation, meals and a weekly allowance of 65 Euro.
