CAPA Shanghai Summer Global Business Program

Location

China: Shanghai

Description

In response to student demand to study in the economic capital of China, the world's 2nd largest economy, CAPA proudly offers this timely and innovative summer program. Shanghai (literally "the city on the way to the sea") is situated in the middle of China's eastern coastline, at the mouth of the Yangtze River at the heart of the Yangtze River Delta - China's key economic and business region. Designated as China's international finance, insurance and world cruise center, and now China's largest container port, Shanghai is also growing into China's future movie animation and fashion capital to supplement its industrial base - now heavily focused on innovation - developed since Shanghai Pudong was established as a Special Economic Zone in 1990.

This stunning 24 hour city of 23 million people has a long history of engagement with foreign nations and is home to the largest domestic migrant worker population and international community on the mainland, giving a unique culture that combines West with East. Therefore, Shanghai is the perfect location for the newest CAPA Global Cities endeavor. The Shanghai Global Business Program is a survey of the past and a look into the future in Asia's Century, which combines two academic courses, Analyzing and Exploring the Global City: Shanghai and Doing Business in China, with the rich MyEducation cultural program.

This 6-week summer program includes housing at Shanghai International Studies University, a weekly meal stipend, a transportation pass for the metro and buses, a full-day excursion to Suzhou, and overnight weekend excursion to Hangzhou, company visits and CAPA's MyEducation Program.
