    Volunteer for Camp Outlook during summer!

    Camp Outlook is a completely volunteer run non-profit charitable organization. We are dedicated to providing 13 to 17 years old youth from the Kingston area experiencing social, behavioral, economic, or other difficulties with an opportunity to experience wilderness camping in Algonquin Park. Outlook stands for the worth and potential of these youth and the therapeutic value of wilderness tripping. The core purpose of Outlook is to encourage youth to realize their value as individuals, their abilities, and their potential to achieve.

  • Qualifications

    We are looking for a committed group of trippers for the Summer season! As a volunteer, you will venture out on three or four 7-, 9- or 15-day canoe trips in beautiful Algonquin park. You and your co-staff will be leading canoe trips with youth from Kingston and the surrounding areas. We provide you with room and board from June to August, as well as all necessary training at no cost. No previous tripping experience is necessary. Through our training, volunteers will earn certifications in Wilderness First Aid, Bronze Cross/Medallion, and ORCKA canoeing.

  • Program Fees Include:

    Certifications and training paid for by Camp Outlook. Individuals offered a position are responsible for initially paying for police checks, but this is reimbursed at at the end of the summer.

    Our Volunteers come from all kinds of backgrounds, but they share a love of helping others, working as a team, enjoy spending time with youth, and they like being in nature. They are reasonably fit, and become much more so by the end of the summer!
