Description

We are working in the countryside in Siem Reap province and we are working in the countryside of the province Takeo.

Our main activity in this commune is the organization of English classes for the children of the villages Phum Chhuk and Phum Roemdeen, and the neighbouring villages Phum Bhos and Phum Bhos Thom. Classes take place from Monday to Saturday. An average day starts at 9.00 am with the course preparations together with the four Cambodian teachers in the house of the volunteers, the Cambodia-Dutch House. But also Medicine & Healthcare, technical volunteers for repairing wells, houses placements.

Highlights

It's a local village in the countryside, the level is low of teaching English and basic hygiene programs.

Next to working in the villages (at the moment there is no health care), volunteers will be encouraged to set up information sessions/activities regarding HIV/AIDS prevention, hygiene, health, pregnancy, etc.

Working times will be e.g. from Monday till Friday from 8.00 am till 11.00 am and from 2.00 pm till 5.00 pm. These working times still need to be determined exactly.

We also make water pump, repair houses, bringing food around to orphans who are living alone or with a grandmother. We make vegetable gardens, place water filters on bad water places, etc.

In our Volunteers house in Takeo we have 3 private sleeping rooms and one big sleeping room, large bathroom, big kitchen and a large veranda with a nice view on the rice fields, surrounded by very nice friendly villagers.

In our volunteers house in CHHUK we also take care for 2 orphans who are also living in our volunteer's house.

Qualifications

We are looking for teachers and medical volunteers.
