    A young, vibrant university, California State University, San Bernardino is one of the fastest growing universities in California, largely because of its expanding service area of San Bernardino and Riverside counties, which covers 27,000 square miles  a territory larger than 10 states in the nation. More than 65,000 students have graduated from CSUSB, including many who work in Southern California and make a major positive impact on the economy. Founded in 1965, CSUSB currently enrolls more than 17,500 students and employs more than 2,100 faculty and staff.

    Located equidistant between Los Angeles and the Palm Springs area, the university offers more than 70 traditional baccalaureate and master's degree programs and a wide variety of education credential and certificate programs, including many that have earned national recognition. Its business and entrepreneurship programs are nationally respected, as evidenced by CSUSB's 2006 ranking of fourth in the United States for graduate entrepreneur programs. Cal State San Bernardino is distinguished as the first Inland Empire university with prestigious national accreditation for its College of Business and Public Administration.

    The university's programs in computer science, geographic information and decision sciences, psychology, health, kinesiology, English, public administration, accounting and finance, and many others are all highly regarded. The College of Education now offers the university's first doctoral program, an Ed.D. in educational leadership. CSUSB's extended education programs in business writing and language skills, technology, entrepreneurship and conference management are some of the state's busiest.

    The university's student population is one of the most diverse in California, with a student enrollment so diverse that there is no majority ethnic group on campus.
