  • Description

    The aim of this volunteer project is to help the development and improvement of the communities surrounding Morelia City. Volunteers will help several communities through interesting and useful actions promoting the integration of the international volunteers in the local culture and the interaction with local people. The volunteers will be renovating public spaces, squares, sportive spaces and schools that need improvement, and will thus create a better life for the local people in an international solidarity effort.

    The volunteers will work in 4 of the 14 demarcations surrounding Morelia, needing community service. They will help in the maintenance and renovation of some public areas such as gardens, squares, basketball fields and schools. They will have the opportunity to share time with the local population and have intercultural exchange workshops with local youngsters.

  • Highlights

    Morelia is a beautiful historic city, and capital of the state of Michoacan. Founded almost 500 years ago, the city has a wonderful central zone with buildings dating back to the time of the Spanish conquest as well as all the more modern attributes (shops, bars, cafes, etc). The city's population is over 1 million and the climate is moderately warm, with daytime temperatures ranging from 20-35ยบ C. Morelia is well connected to a variety of great places to visit, such as Patzcuaro, and the ancient Purepecha capital Tzintzunzan.
