  • Description

Paestum was founded by the ancient Greeks in the VI century B.C. and it is one of the most beautiful sites of the Magna Grecia in Italy. The aim of the project will be to recover the natural paths and the city walls that surround the archeological area.

The volunteers will be involved in the maintenance of the city walls as well as the pathways of the archaeological site of Paestum. Under the supervision of the local staff, the volunteers will also take part in cutting the grass and weeding around the historical area. They will also help cleaning up the pinewood which stands along the beaches, in a protected area which is part of the archaeological site.

  • Highlights

UNESCO World Heritage Site, Paestum remains, for its characteristic arts and nature, one of the most beautiful cities of Magna Grecia. The old city is located in a strategic position, a few km from the Amalfi Coast, which extends along the Tyrrhenian Sea and from the Cilento National Park. The Archaeological site includes the Basilica, the oldest among the three Temples (it dates back to 550 B.C), the Temple of Ceres, the Temple of Neptune, the Amphitheatre and the Forum.
