  • Description

    Sulursari village is located in the Grobogan Regency. It lies on the east part of the Semarang municipality and is surrounded by corn fields. This village is also located in a hilly karstic area, on the south part with oak trees. The local community appreciates the presence of international volunteers and believes in the possibility to improve the centre through the exchange of good practices and ideas with the volunteers. The project site will be in a small local kindergarten school, named TK Pertiwi. The school has only 1 teacher with around 40 students, and is located next to the villages elementary school.

    The volunteers will contribute by painting the kindergarten's building and will do small renovations of the playground. The group will also organize some educational activities with the local students.

    This project will be held in Sulursari village in the Grobogan Regency, 100 km east of Semarang.

    There is an extra fee of 160 Euros for participation in this project, intended to support the local host.

  • Highlights

    The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen.

    Leisure time: During free time, the volunteers will have the chance to visit the Bleduk Kuwu, a small mud volcano, used by the people in the surroundings to make salt from its water. You will also have a chance to visit Purwodadi city and do some sport activities with the local youths.
