  • Description

The Phattalung projects are part of the campaign for stimulating rural development with the support of International Voluntary Service. We believe that the impact of the international volunteers in rural communities is an important stimulus to open minds and reduce prejudices. We work a lot with rural schools to transmit these values to the children.

The volunteers will give English language lessons to the children of the primary and secondary school of the Banphud village, close to Phattalung city. They also might organise handicraft and artistic workshops after-school for the kids and teenagers of the community.

Leisure time: Leisure time will be organised by the volunteers with the support of the group leader. The region is full of nice places to visit during the free time.

Location: Phatthalung Province, South of Thailand. Banphud village is about 40 km from Phattalung city, itself being at about 1150 km south from Bangkok and about 150 km north of Hat Yai city. The surrounding nature is especially beautiful.

There is an extra fee of 6,500 Thai Baht (about USD 170) for participation in this project, intended to support the local host.

Testimonials

Two years ago I took a chance and signed up for an Icelandic volunteer experience. At the time I did not realize it, but would later discover, that 'chance' would become one of the best decisions ...
