Improving the bike network in the Yil University campus

Turkey
Share |

Location
Turkey: Erzurum

Program Duration
2-4 weeks

Typical Duration of Program
2-4 weeks

Dates
May 30 - June 8

  • Description

The volunteers' cycling tour around Van Lake last year drew a lot of attention. The students of the local Yil University started to show more interest in cycling since then. Many students use now bikes to travel within the campus area. Thus there is a need to mark the cycling roads and routes.

The international volunteers will be marking the bike roads in the campus together with the local students. Anyone with an experience in such a job will be highly welcomed although no experience is needed for the rest of the work.

Van is a big city in the very east of Turkey by the Iranian border. The project will start in Istanbul with an orientation meeting that all volunteers should attend on the first day of the project. The group will travel all over Turkey from west to the east by coach (23 hours) on the second day of the project.

  • Highlights

The group will be cycling to the nearby towns for leisure in the free days. Bikes will be provided.
