  • Description

The volunteers will be responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of the institution to ensure efficient performance of the organization operation. This includes counseling victims of torture, visiting prisoners in prison, providing legal services/aid, follow up of legal cases and organizing outreach programs and awareness programs on Human rights.

Founded in 1991, RPP is a social movement registered as a trust in Kenya working with diverse communities for the realization of social transformation and citizen's empowerment. RPP was born as a result of unlawful arrests of political prisoners who were championing for human rights in socio-economic and political spheres. Mothers of the political prisoners grouped first in Nakuru and then later in Nairobi, staging demonstrations, arguing that the political prisoners were jailed because of calling for multi-party democracy. Then the Government had ceded to it. It meant that they were not guilty and there was no justification for their continued confinement.

The program is running from February to November. Minimum stay is 1 month and maximum is 6 months.
