  • Description

    Nowadays, many farm villages in the countryside are facing serious problems due to the depopulation of young generation in their villages and running out of help. However, now more and more people are getting interested in the environmentally friendly farming and food. Unlike other villages, Hwacheon Village has high percentage of young people and maintains active and lively atmosphere. Currently, this village is striving to develop its own culture and establish an environment-friendly system.

    Participants will help local people with farming in the fields. Moreover, the group will organize some activities for local children. They will experience various interesting cultures in this farming area of Korea.

    Free time: Participants will do some tours around the local area including historical and cultural sites. The local area is famous for the chicken dish called "Chuncheon Spicy Chicken Barbeque". Participants may be able to visit "Spicy Chicken Barbeque" festival that is held every year in Chuncheon area. Moreover, the volunteers will have a chance to visit a lake and even ride a banana boat.

    Location: Hwacheon, Gangwon Province, 100 km east from Seoul.
