  • Description

The Como Lake is one of most important and famous lakes in Italy, a very well known place thanks to its villas, its secular trees and its uncontaminated nature. Environmental groups have been collaborating for 5 years with the Oliveto Lario municipality to promote coastline conservation and safeguard. The Oliveto Lario middle-term volunteer project is only one of the several initiatives organized in this frame.

During this project, volunteers will collaborate in cleaning up beaches, restoring the access points, and removing rubbish. Furthermore, volunteers will be involved in environmental education activities for tourists, collaborating with local authorities. They will be provided with bicycles to reach the work place. Volunteers, for about one week, will be hosted at the Permanent Centre for Volunteers and Environmental Education in Campsirago, then will move to Oliveto, about 20 km far. Council operators will support volunteers in their work, showing and organising the activities during the project.

Oliveto-Lario is in Lecco district, Lombardia region, North of Italy.
