Experience a pleasing blend of old and new buildings in an attractive setting of lawns and gardens overlooking the mile-wide River Tay and the surrounding hills of Fife and Perthshire. Dundee, the "City of Discovery", (pop. 170,000) lies on the estuary of the Tay on the east coast of Scotland, with the Highlands to the north and St. Andrews and Edinburgh to the south. It has more students per head than any other city in the United Kingdom. This means that the services and businesses very much cater to students' needs and budgets. There are excellent cultural and social activities, as well as sporting and shopping facilities. Dundee has the nicest climate of all of Scotland's cities, with more sunshine and lower rainfall.
Founded in 1881 as University College of St. Andrews, Scotland's oldest University since 1411, the University of Dundee was established in 1967 and is now Scotland's University with the widest range of courses. Two-thirds of its departments or schools have received "excellent" or "highly satisfactory" teaching quality assessment ratings (TQA) from the funding council SHEFC. Located within the city center, the campus offers easy access to Dundee's cultural and social life, while forming a close community with a stimulating atmosphere. The university offers a wide range of student support services, student clubs and social/recreational facilities, such as sport halls and computer labs.

Alumni Feedback
"I would recommend study abroad (especially in Dundee) to anyone willing to open their mind and have an adventure. It was the best four months of my entire life so far, and I wish everyone could have the chance to experience what I did."
- Shannon Smith
"Studying abroad at Dundee was a great experience. It really is like what people say about it. You get to meet new people learn new things about different cultures. I really do recommend studying abroad. And when you do study abroad it is fun to hang out with other study abroad students, but don't just limit yourself to that. Join a club and become friends with people you meet in that club. I joined the women's rugby team while I was studying abroad at Dundee and I was able to travel more because they would take me to out of the city to games and events. The team went as fans to several international rugby games and I was able to go. If I hadn't met them then I never would have known that those games were going on nearby. It was a great experience and I still keep in touch with a few of my friends on the team."

"Studying abroad is like opening your eyes for the first time. You look around and realize that it is no longer necessary to satisfy your thirst for adventure with a dream. That dream is all around you."
