Bokeo Social Enterprise (BSE), situated in Nam Keung Kao, is offering unique and exciting opportunities to undertake rewarding work in a traditional Northern Lao village!
Volunteers will be placed in a local home-stay, where they will get a more intimate look into the lives of traditional Lao life. Volunteers will also be involved in other activities to help enhance the daily lives of villagers. This may include help in developing cottage industries, documenting and researching various marketing opportunities, and working with local civil and governmental organizations to help develop appropriate development action plans.
Primarily an agro-based, subsistence economy, Nam Keung Kao is home to some 1400 people. Like elsewhere in Laos, employment is scarce, and many people are looking to English-language proficiency as a way out of poverty. English-language instructors are therefore crucial members of the local community, providing critical educational assets that will contribute to the well-being of the villagers' lives.
If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, do not hesitate to contact the BsE Director for more information!
