  • Description

Are you interested in doing something extraordinary during your Summer break? Are you interested in gaining international hands-on experience in sustainable energy, clean water, and/or community development work?

blueEnergy's Summer Internship Program is a unique 1 to 12 week opportunity with flexible start dates for individuals who want to learn hands-on about community development, experience new cultures, work hard and have fun doing it! You have the opportunity to learn about and participate in solar panel installations, water filter installations, and community development initiatives that directly impact the lives of those less fortunate in rural Nicaragua. Have the experience of a lifetime during your Summer break while participating in blueEnergy's renewable energy, water, and community development work on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua!

blueEnergy is a non-profit organization that connects isolated communities to clean water, energy, and other basic services to give people the opportunity to improve their lives. We are currently focused on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua, where over 75% of the population does not have access to electricity and clean water. Utilizing a community-based project design model, we work directly with our beneficiaries to create appropriate solutions. Intern with blueEnergy and experience this development model hands-on!

The Summer Internship Program is designed for individuals interested in gaining hands-on implementation experience in at least one of the following program areas: water, energy, and community development. Interns will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with international staff members and volunteers, local people and beneficiaries and witness how their work benefits those most in need in Nicaragua!

    Examples of internship opportunities
    - Rural Solar Panel Installations: blueEnergy's energy team is committed to bringing clean light and the opportunities that come with it to the people of the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua. From construction to installation, YOU will be involved in providing single-home lighting systems to beneficiaries.
    - Water Filter Installations: blueEnergy's water team is committed to providing access to clean drinking water to the people of the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua. This is a region that lacks municipal water and sewage services. From training to building to installing, YOU will be involved in the process of ensuring access to clean water to those who need it most.
