Currently blueEnergy is seeking a committed, experienced individual with a passion for developing talent to take on the Talent Development Coordinator position. This full-time position is located in Bluefields, Nicaragua and will report to the Director of blueEnergy Nicaragua and support the Executive Director of blueEnergy International.
The Talent Development Coordinator will work with both national and international personnel to understand their career ambitions and combine this with institutional needs and priorities to develop and execute skill and competency building initiatives. Other responsibilities include working with the Nicaragua HR team to identify talent in the recruiting process.
Candidates must have exceptional teamwork and emotional intelligence, and be able to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop International Talent in Nicaragua
- Work with the Nicaragua Director, Nicaragua HR team and the International Executive Director to create a common understanding of international talent development needs and priorities
- Work one-on-one with all international personnel to understand their personal and professional development priorities
- Develop and deliver professional and personal learning opportunities to all international personnel
- Develop and implement a strategy for converting short-term interns into long-term volunteers
- Develop and implement a strategy for converting long-term volunteers into staff
- Develop and deliver management training for entry level volunteers
- Develop and deliver leadership training for mid-level international managers on how to manage and motivate people
Develop National Talent in Nicaragua
- Work with the Nicaragua Director and Nicaragua HR team to create a common understanding of national talent development needs and priorities
- Work one-on-one with all national staff to understand their personal and professional development priorities
- Develop and deliver professional and personal learning opportunities to all national staff
- Develop and deliver leadership training for mid-level national managers on how to manage and motivate people
Support Talent Recruitment for Nicaragua
- Work with the Nicaragua HR team to identify talent in the recruitment process
- Passionate about working in multi-national, multi-cultural teams and for developing talent in support of the mission
- Excellent relationship-building skills, sense of humor, and ability to communicate professionally and diplomatically with a wide variety of constituencies
- Strong ability to understand others' point of view and ability to assess others' strengths and weaknesses
- Strong self-direction, flexibility, and attention to detail
- Strong ability to multi-task and take tasks to completion
- Strong ability to juggle competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
- Demonstrated ability to balance creativity and structure
- 3+ years experience in HR / talent development; experience in a nonprofit and/or international development organization a plus
- Bilingual in English & Spanish language (written and spoken)
- A 2-3 year commitment
Bachelors
blueEnergys early-stage, non-profit environment will provide ample opportunity for personal and professional growth. The financial compensation is very modest, but enough to live comfortably in Nicaragua. Room and board and 1 annual flight home are provided.
