About our school:

It began in 1996 as part of a project under the name of Language and Culture for foreigners living in Barcelona, supervised by the city council of Barcelona. We are a group of teachers with a 5 year University Degree in Spanish Language, Literature and Teaching methodology and a Masters Degree in Teacher's training.

The curriculum is based on a communicative approach as well as task-based approach, which involves the practice of reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Our students do not only learn the language but also the culture, which is very important to achieve good results in the language class. Teachers at the school have to meet very specific requirements: a five-year-degree in Hispanic Studies, a Masters or a postgraduate Degree in Spanish FL, regular attendance to seminars on new approaches and a minimum of 3 years experience.

Our teachers help create an excellent learning environment. They offer a personal service to our students by taking cultural differences into account fostering a cooperative and welcoming atmosphere.

Highlights

Bess is an established school in the centre of Barcelona offering high standards of teaching, reasonable rates, and different types of courses. Classes at the school, at the teacher's house, one-to-one classes through video-conference and weekend courses in the countryside. Groups of 4 to 9 students and weekly extracurricular activities so that the student gets to know the Spanish culture.
