  • Description

Specific tasks at Good Hope are endless, with 15 children at the orphanage and 60 children attending the school there is no shortage of work to be done. Help to teach Math, English, Science, Geography, Social Studies and/or History; assist the teachers in the classrooms and perhaps even teach your own classes. Good Hope promises to keep you busy! Volunteers will be spending their mornings in the classrooms with the teachers and their afternoons either at the orphanage or back in the classroom.

There are many side-jobs available at Good Hope. You could prepare extra-curricular activities for the children, help to clean the school and/or orphanage or even read stories or help the children with their homework.

Good Hope is trying to become a self-sustainable organization and is in the process of starting new projects. You could help in the garden where they are growing vegetables to feed the kids or feed the chickens that provide the eggs. Recently, they have been trying to recruit more sponsors; you may be able to help in organizing the informational data for this purpose.

  • Highlights

Good Hope School, needs volunteers to assist teaching in the classrooms. There are four teachers at the school for approximately 60 students. Volunteers would be greatly appreciated to ease the workload of these dedicated teachers and to provide stimulus to the children by having a foreign teacher with new ideas and fun new ways of learning, to teach them their various subjects. What an enriching and rewarding experience for volunteers who would be lending a helping hand and at the same time gaining so much in personal growth.
They would like to have volunteers who have knowledge in the teaching field.

  • Qualifications

Volunteers with teaching knowledge are preferable at the school but other jobs do not need any specific qualifications or skills, except for, a love of children and a desire to make a difference in someone else's life. Volunteers should be ready for a challenge and be willing to put in some hard work.
