In these workshops, volunteers would help create awareness of the different environmental issues and work towards providing solutions so that youth could feel empowered to help create change. Some of the workshops volunteers would be helping to deliver include: Life Skills Programs; Campaigns such as: safe water, educate a child, light for all and the plant a tree campaign.
Train youth programs

Developing Resource

Nature Clubs
Volunteers would be given the opportunity to help organize and manage nature clubs in different schools that ECCA has partnered with. Nature Clubs are implemented by volunteers at ECCA throughout Nepal. Children ages 6 to 17 work in small clubs to organize and plan activities to run in their school that help to educate other children about environmental issues. Volunteers would assist these clubs by helping the students to create even more stimulating and interesting ways to promote educational awareness in their schools.
Volunteers would be able to select a campaign to work with and help to implement the workshops associated. Below are a few of the campaign options:
* Awareness of Safe Drinking Water Campaign: education on water filtration technique, disinfection of drinking water, water education through games and/or mural drawing.
* Educate a Child Campaign/ School Environmental Improvement: nature clubs, motivate the student in health and hygiene, environmental education, school clean up, life skills program, resource development for local volunteers and writing funding proposals.
* Plant a Tree Campaign: awareness of climate change, carbon sequestration concept and carbon credit.
* Corporate Social Responsibility: research on corporate social responsibility and trying to create new ways that companies would embrace to ensure that they are actively participating in environmentally and socially responsible programs.
* Urban School Programing: awareness program, heritage hike to promote natural beauty and nature clubs
Environmental Camps for Conservation Awareness - ECCA is seeking volunteers to help organize and implement workshops to Nepali youth. Volunteers are needed to assist in promoting awareness to youth throughout Nepal about environmental issues and help educate children on how they can address these issues. ECCA has a broad scope of projects and requires more man-power to implement and disseminate these projects. Volunteers would be much appreciated to help conduct these workshops, for this most worthwhile endeavour.
Volunteers must be able to conduct workshops, enjoy working with children and be able to stimulate children, youth and adults towards learning new concepts.
Volunteers must have a background in environmental issues. An education and/or experience in river conservation, water purification, environmental science, sanitation, conservation or environmental technology would also be an asset.

We believe international volunteering promotes cross-cultural learning that helps create global awareness, understanding between cultures and provides the platform for positive change. Our volunteers have taught in schools, provided disaster relief support for the International Red Cross, conducted essential research to improve the management strategies of threatened environments, built homes for impoverished people, provided vocational training and programs for street kids and have worked in co-operation with hundreds of local organizations to distribute aid and improve the quality of life for people throughout Asia, Africa and Latin America.
