The Study Abroad Experience through the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona gives students the chance to study intensive Spanish language and take electives in your major, minor or general studies and receive credit at your home university.

The UAB offers a wide range of courses to choose from to cover all your interests and needs for credit. The courses through the specific study abroad program (Estudios Hispánicos) are mostly taught in English by local faculty, so there is no prior knowledge of Spanish necessary. These classes are located in beautiful, historic, buildings in upscale areas of Barcelona. The UAB purposely keeps class sizes small to encourage interaction and academic rigor as well as to allow the international students to work together.

Students at the UAB during the fall or spring semester will take an intensive 90-hour language course, taught at any level and based on the on-site placement exam. The language class sizes are no more than 15 people to maximize the time spent in the classroom on an individual level.

Barcelona SAE also facilitates direct enrolment at the UAB alongside local students at the main campus in Bellaterra. Here students can take many different subjects - usually taught in Spanish - although some courses are taught in English or Catalan. Many students live on campus here making for a real university feel including campus services such as the International Student Welcome Point, sporting facilities, libraries, cultural activities, bookstores and other shops and more.
