Baan Orapin, built in northern Thai (Lanna) styled architecture, surrounded by tall longan trees, is within easy walking distance of the Night Bazaar, Thapae gate, riverside restaurants along the Ping river, local handicraft shops, and Warorot market. It boasts an inviting residential ambiance that combines an authentic neighborhood vibe with the modern comforts. Baan Orapin is where you will find genuine ambiance of a northern Thai home.
Baan Orapin, named after our grandmother, consists of the original mansion and three guest residential buildings in a peaceful one-acre plus compound filled with mature trees. The original Baan Orapin, a graceful almost-a-century old colonial-Lanna styled teak wood mansion, was completed in 1914 and has been the family residence ever since. The guest buildings were designed with respect to the Lanna and the original mansion characters: hardwood floors, glazed ceramic floor tiles in bathrooms, clay tiles roof and delicate woodcarvings. Baan Orapin is best for mature, independent-minded travelers. Our objective is to provide an ideal short or long stay alternative for those who look for unique Lanna living experience.
Baan Orapin is an ideal combination of the elegance and charm of a bed and breakfast with the privacy of a small hotel. A total of fifteen well-appointed rooms and suites are presented in an unpretentious and relaxed atmosphere. The decor is handsome and natural - a pleasing blend of rattan, teak furnishings and northern Thai handicrafts. All units feature hardwood floors, remote controlled air-conditioning, international cable TV, refrigerator, private bathroom (en suite) with warm/hot shower and in-room electronic safe.
