Highlights
What makes OUR CELTA courses both effective and stimulating?
1. We adopt a highly personal approach towards every participant.
2. We put extra effort in developing participants’ lesson planning and classroom management skills.
3. We increase trainees’ marketability by giving a special TEFL career workshop (career advice, personal CV guidance, TEFL recruiter contacts)
4. We offer a highly competitive package with accommodation included for the duration of the stay
5.We guarantee very high standard of training and service through our EAQUALS Accreditation (with nine areas of excellence in 2013).
Components of the CELTA course:
1. Teaching practice (TP)
Each trainee will have 6 hours of TP over the course. The groups rotate during the course, so teaching is assessed at two different levels, ranging from elementary to upper-intermediate. TP is observed by a course tutor and by the members of the TP group.
2. Supervised Lesson Planning
It is a valuable opportunity for trainees to talk to TP tutors about the lesson they intend to teach the following day/week. At the beginning of the course, trainees receive detailed guidelines from their supervisors as to content and appropriate procedures for their TP lessons. This guidance gradually diminishes as the course goes on and TP groups become responsible for planning and preparing their own lessons.
3. Feedback on Teaching Practice
It is given in the form of summary notes from the TP tutor and in a post-lesson discussion with the TP tutor and the rest of the TP group. It is very useful to hear other people's comments (tutors and peers) about your teaching style, as well as learn from the lessons of other trainees.
4. Observation
Each trainee will observe 6 hours of teaching done by experienced teachers in addition to observing fellow trainees during TP.
5. Input sessions
Input sessions tend to be seminars/workshops rather than lectures and cover three broad areas: language awareness, methodology, and professionalism.
6. Written work
There will be four assessed written assignments of a practical nature. In addition to these assignments, trainees are required to hand in their lesson plans for TP and language analysis sheets.
Assessment
You will be assessed throughout the course, with no final examination. The two main components of the continuous assessment are:
1. Teaching Practice - internally assessed by the course tutors and externally moderated by a Cambridge ESOL- approved assessor
2. Written Assignments -internally assessed and each candidate must complete all the four assignments.
The grades awarded are Pass, Pass B and Pass A.

CELTA experience
I started with mixed emotions because I've never thought of becoming a teacher but i loved it. It was a great opportunity to dive in the reality of the teaching experience. Such a pity that it lasts only a month, it was just getting more fun.
The truth is that the atmosphere, the support and the chance of observing the other teachers in action was essential and i strongly recommend the CELTA course to all of you who'd like to learn the basics on how to teach.

CELTA at Avo Bell Sofia
I had a wonderful experience of the CELTA course at Avo Bell Sofia. The course was challenging, but the atmosphere at Avo Bell was particularly supportive. The tutors here take a very personalized approach to helping students address their strengths and weaknesses. The resources at this center are also excellent (there is a great library). I had everything that I needed to succeed; I met great people, and I learned a great deal. This is a very useful and stimulating course, and a great place to spend at least four weeks.

AVO Bell Sofia is a great place to study CELTA
I had the chance to experience the CELTA atmosphere in AVO Bell two years ago when I had my summer vacation. I was amazed, even mesmerized by the professionalism and working pace of the centre. I was not mentally prepared for what was coming, but quickly switched to high- speed working mode and managed to take great advantage of the incredible teaching staff and the school base-the library and so. I highly reccomend the place to everyone who wants to experience the spirit of qualified and dedicated professionalists and wants to learn how to teach well. I personally loved it .
