The Australian Internships Professional Hospitality Program provides unique international training experience, designed for candidates pursuing a career in hospitality. All Hospitality Internships are award-wage-based professional training positions (AUD15 - AUD20 per hour). Previous experience and/or academic study within hospitality is a must for this program along with a high level of English.
The fields offered are food and beverage, front office, reception, house keeping and cookery. Interns with long term placements may be offered the possibility to gain extra unpaid training in alternative areas of the Island Resorts in order to meet academic and career objectives and ensure learning development. Internships vary in length; candidates can choose from 6, 9 or 12-month internships. All candidates must participate in a telephone interview prior to being accepted into the program.

* Minimum of 2 years tertiary education in hospitality
* Minimum 6 months full time experience with leading hotel chains
* Candidates need to prove that their experience has been; obtained on a continual basis with one property short stints at several properties is undesirable
* High communication skills
* Strong knowledge of the hospitality industry both domestically and internationally
* Flexibility and willingness to work in a variety of departments
* Flexibility and willingness to work in rural and remote locations

* The allocation of an Internship Program Supervisor A one on one contact providing support throughout the program;
* An individualised internship placement that is aligned to your objectives and capabilities;
* Monitoring and supervision. Your IPS will contact you every 2 to 4 weeks by phone or email throughout the period of your internship;
* Regular social/intern meetings held in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne;
