    Study abroad for a semester or year at University of Tasmania with GlobaLinks Learning Abroad, formerly known as AustraLearn.

    The University of Tasmania (UTAS) is one of Australias oldest and most distinguished universities. It is consistently ranked as one of Australias top universities for both teaching and research. Many successful graduates of the University of Tasmania hold senior positions in civil service, industry and commerce throughout Asia.

    The University of Tasmania has a total student population of around 22,000. There are currently around 3,500 international students from 90 countries studying at the Universitys two main campuses, at Hobart in the south and Launceston in the north of the state. Further, some 1,300 students study UTAS courses abroad in 6 countries.

    Your study abroad experience is all about you! GlobaLinks Learning Abroad is here to assist you in your path of discovery throughout the study abroad experience. We design our programs so that our local and overseas staff are available 24 hours a day to support you in health and safety matters and are also key in enhancing your study abroad experience. Through our planned activities and resident director's personal recommendations for activities you can undertake while abroad, you will be directed on a path of personal, academic, cultural, social, and professional discovery.   • Highlights

    The University of Tasmania will assist study abroad students in meeting local students and making the most of their vacation and weekend time. Possibilities include bushwalking and camping in spectacular mountain national parks, climbing peaks, rafting whitewater rivers (from beginners to the seriously insane),stargazing (the stars have to be seen to be believed) and searching for nocturnal wildlife like possums, owls, Tassie devils and wallabies, mainland trips to Uluru (Ayers Rock) or the Barrier Reef, and whatever else takes our students' interest. There is a wide variety of sporting and social clubs which cater to most interests, from bushwalking to soccer and everything in between.

    Program fees includes tuition for 3-4 subjects, guaranteed pre-arranged housing, GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Bridging Cultures Program on-site in Cairns, Australia, optional spring break tours, access to a transcript from our U.S. University of Record, affiliate student fee discounts, end of program workshop, university administrative fees, overseas health coverage, all pre-trip services including orientation materials, visa-processing service (excluding the visa fee), personal advising, subject selections, liaison with your home university, credit transfer assistance, financial aid services, and 24-hour assistance while abroad.
