The University of Melbourne is Australia's second oldest university, and celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2003. Today it is ranked equal first in among Australian universities, and ranked #36 in the 2010 Times Higher Education's (THE) Top 200 Universities in the world. The campus is a unique blend of traditional and contemporary architecture and culture providing a particular life and ambience of its own. Beyond the exceptional lecture theatres, classrooms, and libraries, it offers you a range of galleries, theatre and entertainment venues, bookshops, retail stores, cafes, and restaurants.

The University of Melbourne is the only Australian university that offers a truly international curriculum aligned with the very best global higher education models. The Melbourne Model is an innovative approach to learning and teaching, and the rigor of this curriculum structure is underpinned by the Melbourne Experience, through which students can access unprecedented academic enrichment opportunities.

One of advantages of studying abroad at the University of Melbourne is the campus location. The campus is spacious, green, and leafy, yet it is still located within walking distance to downtown Melbourne. The Economist Intelligence Unit (London) has consistently ranked Melbourne as one of the world's most livable city. This ranking is based on celebrating diversity and multiculturalism and welcoming newcomers to a safe environment, clean air, numerous public parks and gardens, and many major cultural and sporting events throughout the year.
