Description

Students will take classes at the Oxford Royale Academy, in the beautiful environment of the University of Oxford. The Oxford program is a two-week academic and cultural summer program that brings together hundreds of the world's brightest students (from 87 countries!) to study a wide range of subjects. Sharing cultures is an important part of the experience and students will benefit from a network of global contacts.

Highlights

The program takes place on the campus of St. Catharine's College, University of Oxford. Students will stay in comfortable, modern single rooms on campus and within walking distance of the classrooms, dining hall (breakfast and dinner are included in the program) and computer lab. Activities include museum tours, the botanical gardens, guest lectures and a variety of summer sports, including the traditional English game of croquet. In the evenings, students can participate in quiz nights, debates and social events at local country manors. Students may also take part in excursions outside of Oxford where they will explore places of historic and cultural interest. Packed lunches are offered during excursions.

Ages: 16-18 only. Students must be 16 by September 1, 2012.
Credit: No, but a certificate is awarded if students want to petition for credit.

Aspire by API is the high school and gap year division of Academic Programs International (API), an educational organization that has been sending university students abroad to study since 1997. Aspire by API is dedicated to providing comprehensive summer study abroad programs for high school students as well as gap year abroad programs for recent high school graduates. Our language and cultural immersion programs provide students with educational opportunities to learn and develop relevant global skills in an exciting, enriching, safe, and secure setting. We aim to start each student on a path of lifelong global citizenship through participation in an ASPIRE program.
