The program will begin in Bucharest, with a tour of traditional Romanian ecological building techniques at the National Village Museum. We will then proceed to the village of Poieni, to the AMURTEL farm, where there will be an introduction to permaculture principles as applied to the ecological farm project. Participants will also visit the AMURTEL Romania children's home. Fruits and vegetables grown on the farm will help to sustain the food needs of the children's home project. Plans include also to create jobs in food processing on the farm itself in the future, providing jobs for the young people of Familia AMURTEL as they reach working age, and for the economic development of the local community, which is quite impoverished.
After the introduction to the permaculture plan, participants will help in the materializing of the plan through preparing garden beds, planting, clearing land, etc.
In July there will be an international workshop in designing an ecological house out of traditional earth materials combined with artistic modern design. The result of this project will be a small cottage.
Agricultural work will continue throughout the growing and harvest season.

To improve the quality of life for those at risk of social exclusion, with a special focus on women and children, and to assist the victims of natural and man-made disasters. We believe that the best assistance is that which encourages and enables people to develop themselves, and therefore we emphasize educational programs, and programs that lead towards socio-economic independence, as well as shorter term relief distribution and aid.
