Ashoka Mexico is a branch of Ashoka, a global organization founded in 1980 and a pioneer in social entrepreneurship. The office was established in 1987 and extended throughout Central America in 1997. During this time, we began choosing social entrepreneurs from the region. We aim to encourage social innovation and entrepreneurship in Mexico, Caribbean, and Central America.
We work with teens and young people ages 12 to 24. We also partner with businesses, entrepreneurs, businesses, and school communities (from primary schools to universities). Our programs collaborate with different sectors of the society, allowing our organization to empower people to become agents of change. Some of our initiatives are Venture (identifies and chooses social entrepreneurs), Transforming Schools (selects primary schools with outstanding methods in entrepreneurial training), and You advance (invests in youth groups).
